How it works

Type a matrix as rows separated by semicolons, with commas or spaces between the numbers: 1, 2; 3, 4 is a 2x2 matrix. Everything is worked out exactly the way you were taught, in the order you choose: A op B is the same order as the algebra, not the other way round.

The formula

det(A) = ad - bc for 2x2; multiply C[i][j] = row i of A · column j of B; inverse A⁻¹ = adj(A) / det(A).
